Develer at Focus Embedded 2008

Develer partecipate at the sixth edition of Focus Embedded. In our stand (n.15) will be possibile to ask information about all our range of services, take brochure and datasheet about BeRTOS and Nokia Qt technologies and contact directly our commercial and technical interfaces.

We are present in the speech session with: Qt/Embedded as a solution to create embedded devices with user interfaces with our Qt software engineer Luca Ottaviano.

PyCon Due

After the success of PyCon Uno in 2007, this year Python Italia Associazione di Promozione Sociale is organizing PyCon Due, the second Italian conference about the Python development platform.

Develer is actively involved this year too, both as a sponsor and within the organizational board: some of Develer employees are in fact among Python Italia founders.

The opening event for the conference, which helds in Florence, will be given friday 9th in the prestigious
Salone dei Cinquecento in Palazzo Vecchio: Richard M. Stallman will give a keynote about free software and related ethics.

The conference days are scheduled on saturday 10th and sunday 11th: talks will be organized in three parallel tracks, and will be given by expert professionals. Moreover, several international famous guests are expected. About 300 people will attend, including professionals, students and fans.

OLPC conference in Florence

On March 7th the first Italian conference about OLPC project will be held. The event will be hosted in Palazzo Vecchio, in Salone de'Dugento. Nicholas Negroponte, MIT and OLPC project founder, will introduce the project.

Develer will attend the event, since our friend (and ex-colleague) Bernardo Innocenti is a OLPC developer!

Welcome BeRTOS: a little big real time operating system

Develer is glad to announce that BeRTOS, its embedded free real-time operating system, has just been released under GPL license (free software), with an exception that allows to use it in proprietary applications too. Try it now on www.bertos.org.

BeRTOS is already used in production over several project Develer has been working on, and reached a fair maturity level. By releasing it as free software, we want to encourage and spread its adoption.

Unlike several other real time operating systems, BeRTOS is much more than a kernel: actually, it sports several hardware driver ready to be used, a full-featured graphic subsystem tailored for small displays, lots of already implemented protocols and much more.
